I’m someone who believes the best photos aren’t posed, they’re felt. When you book me for your family, couple, or wedding photography, I’m not here to choreograph every second—I’m here to quietly notice the way you look at each other, the chaos of kids being kids, the soft exhale when you finally relax into the moment. With gentle direction and lots of encouragement, your session feels more like time together than a photoshoot, whether we’re at home, wandering through forests, or chasing the last light over the hills. I’ll worry about the angles, light and storytelling; you just get to be yourselves. I want every photo to feel like a chapter of your story: unscripted, a little messy, full of heart, and completely you.

Hi, I'm Cate!
I’m a Bristol-based photographer and mother of two, born and raised in South Africa. I moved here with my husband and children, bringing with me a lifelong love of images born in a house full of photographers.
As a child I’d watch my grandfather in the darkroom for hours, and somewhere between the trays and the hush I fell in love with stolen moments forever immortalised in a photograph.
I’m a hopeless romantic at heart, always seeking love and light, and having walked through loss I know how precious photographs become. That’s why I’m obsessed with the in-between moments—the hand squeeze, the shy grin, the quiet exhale.
When I’m not behind the lens, I’m a happy homebody either curled up with a book and my cat, writing poetry, or challenging my children to a game of hide and seek (I haven't lost yet).

I’ll gently guide you when you need it, keep things relaxed when nerves show up, and always chase the best light. Every gallery is created to become an heirloom of honest, heartfelt photographs you’ll return to again and again, long after the confetti has settled and the kids have grown.

Let’s Make It Official
Ready to book your shoot with me? Once you’ve paid the £100 booking fee and signed the contract, your date is officially yours. We’ll then hop on a free Zoom or phone call to dream up your session together, and keep in touch with ideas and plans so it feels perfectly you.
On The Day Magic
On the day, we’ll head to your chosen location and just… hang out. I’ll be there like a friend (or honorary family member), gently guiding when needed and quietly capturing the love, chaos and magic as it unfolds.
Your Memories, Wrapped Up
After your shoot, you’ll receive a private, personalised online gallery to browse at home. From there you can download your favourites, and order beautiful prints or albums to keep forever.
