Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer?

Most couples book their wedding photographer 9–18 months in advance, especially for popular summer and weekend dates. As soon as you’ve booked your venue, it’s a good idea to secure your photographer. I occasionally have last-minute availability, but early booking gives you more choice and time to plan your engagement session and timeline together.

How long does a couples or family photo session last and what can we expect?

Couples and family photo sessions usually last 60–90 minutes. We’ll meet at your chosen location (or in your home), have a quick chat to ease any nerves, then I’ll gently guide you with simple prompts rather than stiff poses. You can expect a relaxed, fun session focused on natural moments, genuine interaction and storytelling images.

When will we receive our photos and how many images will we get?

For weddings, you’ll usually receive a small preview gallery within a few days and your full gallery within 6–10 weeks, depending on the season. Couples and family sessions are typically delivered within 2–4 weeks. The exact number of images varies, but you can expect a carefully curated gallery with all the best moments from your day or session, fully edited and ready to download.

What’s included in your wedding photography packages?

My wedding photography packages typically include half-day or full-day coverage, a pre-wedding consultation, timeline guidance, professionally edited high-resolution images, an online gallery for downloading and sharing, and print options such as albums or framed prints. You can also add bespoke extras like a second photographer, extended coverage or a separate couples session.

What should we wear for our couples or family photoshoot?

The most important thing is to feel comfortable and like yourselves. Neutral, coordinating tones tend to photograph beautifully, and it’s best to avoid large logos or very busy patterns. For family photography, choose outfits that allow you to move, cuddle and play easily. I’m always happy to help with outfit ideas and you’re welcome to send photos for feedback before your session.

What happens if the weather is bad or we need to reschedule?

Weather is part of the story, and a little drizzle or wind can create beautiful, atmospheric photos. If the forecast is truly awful for a couples or family shoot, we can chat about moving to an indoor location or rescheduling to another available date. For weddings, I’ll work with whatever the day brings and help find the best light and locations, with a flexible plan for indoor group photos if needed.
